Aremcolox™ 502-1100 is an advanced, alumino-silicate, machinable ceramic ideal for producing reliable, low cost ceramic parts for applications to 2100 ºF (1150 ºC).
Aremcolox™ 502-1100 demonstrates exceptional mechanical, electrical and thermal properties including a compressive strength of 25 Kpsi, dielectric strength of 100 volts per mil, and thermal conductivity of 9.0 Btu-in/hr-ft2-°F. Its coefficient of thermal expansion is 2.5 in/in/°F x 10-6, making it ideal for thermal shock applications.
Aremcolox™ 502-1100 can be used in oxidizing, reducing or vacuum atmospheres. It will not outgas in ultra high vacuum and does not react with most molten metals, salts and acids.
Aremcolox™ 502-1100 is machined easily using conventional tooling, and after a simple firing procedure, it is fully dense and resistant to 2100 °F (1150 ºC). Stock sizes include plates from 1/4″ to 1″ thick; rods from 1/4″ to 7″ diameter; and bars from 1″ x 1″ to 4″ x 4″. Aremco also fabricates parts to customer prints.
