Ceramacast 900 Now Used to Cast High Temp Fixtures

Ceramacast™ 900, a new high temperature castable ceramic developed by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to pot a variety of electrical components and to produce high temperature fixtures and parts for applications to 2800 ºF (1535 ºC).

Ceramacast 900 Now Used to Cast High Temp Fixtures

Ceramacast™ 900 is a zirconium-silicate based, calcium-aluminate bonded, chemical-setting castable ceramic ideal for casting small parts and fixtures, and for potting high temperature electrical components such as infrared heaters, cartridge heaters, gas igniters, halogen lamps, and temperature sensors for applications to 2800 ºF (1535 ºC).

Ceramacast™ 900 exhibits exceptional electrical and mechanical properties. The dielectric strength and volume resistivity are 125 volts/mil and 109 ohm-cm, respectively. The compressive strength is 8,000 psi and the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) is 2.8 (4.0) ppm/ºF (ºC).

Ceramacast™ 900 is supplied as a two-part, powder and liquid, system that is mixed in a ratio of 100 parts powder to 15 parts liquid by weight. It is a rapid-setting compound with a pot life of 20 minutes to assist with quick turn-around. A full cure is achieved by step curing for 2–3 hours each at 200 ºF and 250 ºF, respectively. Cured product exhibits a porosity of less than 5% and shrinkage of less than 1.0% at 1000 ºF.

Ceramacast™ 900 is supplied from stock in quart, gallon and five gallon kits.
