Aremco-Bond™ 526-N Seals Tubular Heaters to 570 ºF

Aremco-Bond™ 526-N, a new high temperature epoxy system developed by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to seal high temperature tubular heaters for applications to 570 °F (300 ºC).

Aremco-Bond™ 526-N is an unfilled, 100% solids, 1-to-1 mix ratio, high performance epoxy system that can be used continuously at temperatures to 570 °F (300 ºC). Exceptional mechanical properties are provided including a flexural and tensile strength of 16,000 and 2,800 psi, respectively. Good electrical properties are exhibited as wel,l with a volume resistivity of 4.0 x 10to the 14 ohm-cm, dielectric strength of 450 volts per mil, and dielectric constant of 3.01 @ 1.0 Hz.

Aremco-Bond™ 526-N exhibits exceptional adhesion to ceramics, glass, metals and plastics substrates, and demonstrates outstanding chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, organic fluids and salts.

Aremco-Bond™ 526-N passes the ASTM E-595 outgassing test, a particularly important requirement for aerospace manufacturers concerned with material outgassing properties. The TML (total mass loss) at 125 °C is 0.94 and CVCM (collected volatiles condensable) at 25°C is 0.00.

Aremco-Bond™ 526-N mixes easily in a 1-to-1 ratio, providing a mixed viscosity of 4,000 cP and pot life of 2.5 hours. Aremco-Bond™ 526-N is cured fully after setting at 325 °F for 2-4 hours. The cured Shore-D hardness is 89 and shrinkage is less than .01
